The Cultural Committee of Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College of Commerce and Science organised a Guru Purnima Celebration on 29th July 2026 at 11:30 a.m. in Room No. 201 with the objective of fostering the values of gratitude, respect, and reverence towards teachers and mentors. The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Cultural Committee Convenor, Ms. Archana Jaiswal.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome, followed by an engaging introduction to the significance of Guru Purnima in the Indian tradition. The event was gracefully anchored by Ms. Akansha Sonawane, a student of Second Year B.Sc. (Computer Science), who conducted the proceedings with confidence, poise, and enthusiasm.

As a token of appreciation and gratitude, students felicitated the faculty members by presenting small appreciation gifts, expressing their heartfelt respect and acknowledging the invaluable role of teachers in shaping their academic, professional, and personal lives. The gesture reflected the strong bond between teachers and students and reinforced the institution’s culture of mutual respect and appreciation.

The highlight of the programme was the inspiring address by Principal Dr. Swati Parab, who eloquently spoke on the significance of Guru Purnima and the enduring role of teachers as mentors and guides. She encouraged students to cultivate humility, discipline, gratitude, and a lifelong commitment to learning, while emphasizing the importance of respecting teachers and upholding ethical values in every sphere of life.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, organisers, and students for their enthusiastic participation and support. The celebration served as a meaningful occasion to honour the teacher–student relationship and reinforced the institution’s commitment to nurturing values, character, and holistic development among students.
