Promoting a Drug-Free Future: Anti-Narcotics Awareness Workshop

Uttar Bhartiya Sangh Junior College successfully organized an Anti-Narcotics Awareness Workshop for the SYJC students on 29 June 2026 at Classroom 303, Bandra, Mumbai. The programme was conducted to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its legal implications, and the importance of adopting a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle among young individuals.
The resource person for the session was PSI Priyanka Chauhan, who delivered an informative and engaging presentation on the growing concern of substance abuse in society. She explained the different types of narcotic substances, their adverse effects on physical and mental health, and the serious legal consequences associated with drug-related offences. Through real-life examples and interactive discussions, students gained valuable insights into recognising harmful influences, resisting peer pressure, and making informed life choices.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of personal responsibility, self-discipline, and community participation in preventing substance abuse. Students actively participated in the interactive session, asked thoughtful questions, and expressed their commitment to promoting a drug-free environment within their peer groups and society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to PSI Priyanka Chauhan for her enlightening session, as well as to the Principal, faculty members, and students for their enthusiastic participation and support. The workshop proved to be an impactful initiative, reinforcing the college’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens and promoting a safe, healthy, and drug-free future.
