Celebrating Hindi Language, Literature and Reading
On the occasion of Hindi Bhasha Diwas, the Library – Knowledge Resource Centre of Uttar Bharatiya Sangh’s Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College of Commerce & Science – Junior College organised a Hindi Books Exhibition on Saturday, 12 September 2026.
The exhibition showcased a diverse collection of Hindi books, including literature, poetry, short stories, novels, biographies, motivational literature, language and grammar books, and other informative resources. The initiative provided students with an opportunity to explore the richness of Hindi literature and encouraged them to develop a sustained interest in reading.
As an integral part of the programme, an informative digital presentation and documentary on Hindi Bhasha Diwas, presented through a Flip Book, was also showcased. The presentation familiarised students with the significance of Hindi Bhasha Diwas, the historical importance of 14 September, the development of the Hindi language, the Devanagari script, prominent literary contributions, and the importance of preserving and promoting Indian languages.
The integration of traditional print resources with digital learning made the activity interactive and engaging. It also highlighted the evolving role of the library as a dynamic learning and knowledge space that promotes reading, language awareness, cultural understanding, creativity and student participation.
The exhibition successfully created awareness about the richness of Hindi language and literature while encouraging students to make greater use of the college library and its resources. The initiative also reinforced the importance of nurturing India’s linguistic and literary heritage among the younger generation.
The programme reflected the institution’s commitment to providing students with meaningful, experiential and culturally enriching learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
