The Department of B.Sc. organized the International Tiger Day Celebration on 29th July 2026 under the theme “Act Locally for Global Impact” with the objective of creating awareness among students about tiger conservation, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability.
The programme commenced with an informative PowerPoint presentation highlighting the ecological significance of tigers, the challenges threatening their survival, and the importance of collective conservation efforts. Students further enriched the programme through thought-provoking speeches, emphasizing the role of individuals and communities in protecting wildlife and preserving ecological balance.
To encourage active participation and experiential learning, the department organized a Quiz Competition, Poster Making Competition, and a Placard Activity, enabling students to creatively express their understanding of wildlife conservation. A compelling Nukkad Natak (Street Play) was also presented by the students, effectively conveying the urgent need to conserve tigers and protect biodiversity through an engaging and impactful performance.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Swati Parab, who encouraged the students to become responsible environmental stewards and emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in safeguarding the nation’s rich biodiversity.
