Report on Anti-Narcotics Awareness Session
The NSS Unit B-08 of Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College of Commerce and Science organized an Anti-Narcotics Awareness Session on 29 June 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Room No. 303. The programme was conducted with the objective of educating students about the growing menace of drug abuse, its far-reaching consequences, and the importance of fostering a drug-free society.
The session was led by PSI Priyanka Chavan from Kherwadi Police Station, who served as the resource person. She delivered an insightful and impactful presentation on the increasing prevalence of narcotic substance abuse and its detrimental effects on individuals, families, and society at large.
During her address, PSI Chavan elaborated on the different types of narcotic and psychotropic substances, their adverse impact on physical and mental well-being, and the serious social repercussions associated with substance abuse. She also sensitized students to the legal framework governing narcotic offences, highlighting the key provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the proactive role of law enforcement agencies in preventing drug-related crimes.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who actively engaged in the interactive discussion by asking pertinent questions and expressing their perspectives. PSI Chavan encouraged the students to remain vigilant, make informed life choices, and become responsible ambassadors in promoting anti-drug awareness within their communities.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to PSI Priyanka Chavan for her valuable insights, practical guidance, and inspiring interaction with the students. The awareness session successfully fulfilled its objective of educating young minds about the dangers of drug abuse while reinforcing the values of responsible citizenship, healthy living, and collective commitment towards building a drug-free society.
